Breastfeeding 101
For expecting mothers or nursing mothers looking for breastfeeding help/tips.
~ Saturday, April 14th (1pm - 2:30pm) - $50
This
workshop includes practical information to get you off to a great start
with nursing. Learn about initiating breastfeeding, establishing a
strong milk supply, what to expect the first days of feeding, the
benefits of skin-to-skin contact and how to recognize your baby's hunger
cues. Using dolls, practice various breastfeeding positions and
understand how to achieve a proper latch. Common breastfeeding concerns
will be covered (including how to tell if your baby is eating enough!)
and local breastfeeding support resources will be shared. We will cover
how to select a breastpump, how to express milk, and how to properly
store and use your milk. Guidance will be offered on nursing pillows,
nursing bras and other accessories helpful to nursing moms. Reference
materials covering everything discussed in class are included in the
class price!
